This service includes a comprehensive assessment followed by prescribing of a partial opioid agonist (Suboxone) or Vivitrol.

Participants fill their prescription either at their retail pharmacy if insured or via the DSAMH Community Pharmacy if uninsured.

Clients are required to participate in outpatient treatment and may be referred for additional services as needed.

Office Based Opioid Treatment

SODAT offers outpatient and intensive outpatient substance use and mental health treatment services to individuals and families in Delaware experiencing problems due to chemical dependency. Services include assessment, case management, individual, group and family counseling or psychiatric care.

Treatment goals may include improved patient insight and self-efficacy, as well as increased learning and practicing of a variety of coping skills.

Treatment can be funded by private-pay, Medicaid and a variety of private insurance organizations.

Adult and Adolescent Assessment and Outpatient Treatment

This program is provided by contract with the U.S. Probation Office to provide assessments, urine drug screen monitoring, outpatient and intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment to adult offenders under the supervision of the Federal Probation and Pretrial Services in New Castle County, Delaware.

SODAT also partners with local and state probation and parole in order to provide drug and alcohol treatment services to offenders coming through the judicial system.
